  1. ... like the Corsair, the complete first batch of the H120 Holbay Rapier has been sold out on pre-orders.

     

    Customers who have pre-ordered models always get priority.

    Secondly, when pre-orders have been filled, the models are then listed on the website.

    Lastly when there are sufficient surplus models, they go onto eBay.

     

    My man in China owns a small factory employing a small group of expert model builders. These models are intricately handcrafted and hand built. There is no point in me giving him an order for dozens and dozens. They are built in small batches by his dedicated team.

     

    I always advise people to pre-order.

     

    Hopefully, the second batch will be here soon, and some of these are already pre-ordered, so it you want one, let me know and, if available, I'll reserve one for you.

     

    Remember! this model is a LIMITED EDITION pillarless coupe of 99 only:

    three colours x 33 of each.

  2. Click over now to the 'DERREZ' category on the site to see three now models due from Max, early next year.

     

    The 13/60 saloon will be jopined by two prototypes which never made it into production (and I can't understand why!):

    the Herald 1200 pick up

    and the

    1964 Herald three door hatchback.

    The hatchback, in particular, is a very attractive car.

    Prices are not yet finalised but I expect will be around the same as usual for DERREZ.

  3. 1970 VAUXHALL VIVA  AND MAGNUM HC SERIES.

     

    Following on from the Victor 101 and VX 4/90, in the BHM Majesty Classics range, will come MC 16 and MC 16a: the 1970 Vauxhall Viva HC and Magnum saloons (see photos of real cars in Majesty Classics section).

     

    Colours are yet to be decided, but neither of these models have ever been done before as handbuilts, so demand is likely to be high.

     

    As usual from our man in China, the models will be of exceptional quality and reasonably priced.

     

    They will be built in small, hand-made batches, as is the norm from Zhou, so, anyone wishing to pre-order can let me know by hook or by crook.

     

    This won't be a five minute job, expect a wait, but you've got to be in to win, as the saying goes!

  4. ... the latest factory photos of the production-ready Rapier Holbay H120 Fastback.

    They're on the site now in the Majesty Classics category.

     

    The Bitter green (yellow) and Baltic blue will have black interiors and the Grasshopper green will have a tan interior.

     

    The total build for this specification: open, pillarless coupe with Union flag badges on front wings will be 99 only (33 of each colour) with individual numbers stamped on the aluminium name plate.

     

    I have a lot of pre-orders for these, so if you want one, let me know as soon as you can.

  6. Development of MC 14 the 1959 Standard Pennant is well underway!

    In response to my query regarding the HRG, I received an email today, from ESVAL, part of which is...

     

    "No major updates on the HRG project yet.  Most likely, it will come out sometime in February-March of 2022.  It is still in production, and as you may know there are many China-related production challenges and other supply chain bottlenecks right now due to the pandemic."

     

    Pricewise, I'm expecting it to be around £85. 

    Since Brexit,  all imports from Europe are now subject to 20% import VAT + the carrier adds on approx. 1.5% administration charge.

    ESVAL never used to charge VAT but it's worked against them now as the UK goverment does, accounting for the price rise on ESVAL models.

    Although ESVAL is an American company they supply the UK from their German depot (their models are made in China). 

     

    Another factor to take into account is the exchange rate. It's currently 1.18 Euros to the £. Paying, though, the rate drops to approx 1.15, as the banks also like to take their cut.

     

    So, the price I've estimated is worked out on things staying much the same as they are now. Who know what the future holds! Anyone got a crystal ball they're not using???

    The model will come in two versions:

     

    VELOX PB IN SINGLE TONE WITH BLACK TYRES.

     

    CRESTA PB IN TWO-TONE WITH WHITEWALLS.

  9. ...are now in stock and can be viewed at the OTOL MODELS category on the site.

     

    The Paykan is the left-hand drive export version that was sent to Iran for assembly there for their home market. Apparently, some can still be seen driving around there nowadays.

     

    These are beautifully made models from OTOL, a new manufacturer.
