1964 TRIUMPH HERALD 3-DOOR HATCHBACK PROTOTYPE 

 

The Herald three door hatchback was a prototype that never went into production. I can't understand why, because it looks like an attractive, racy fastback. Both rear quarter panels of the model are different, so as they could evaluate the styling exercises. Unfortunately, it never went into production but the original 1:1 car still exists.

 

A lovely model, hand built in resin by Max Derrez of The Netherlands.

 

Exquistely detailed, it features chrome overriders and headlamp surrounds. The headlights feature clear resin inserts, the tyres are rubber and the windscreen wipers are photo-etched.

 

The model comes presented on a black plastic plinth which is covered by a clear Perspex display case. There is no outer cardboard box, as Derrez do not supply them.
